Westin La Cantera Continues as San Antonio’s Premier Destination Resort

Officials from USAA Real Estate Company announced today plans to soon begin development of The Town Center at La Cantera, a mixed use development on approximately 178 acres bounded by The Shops at La Cantera, Interstate 10 and Loop 1604.
“We will continue to focus on the things that have made this one of the most successful resorts within the Westin and Starwood systems, and that attracted the interest of Gaylord Entertainment in the first place – our award-winning customer service, our exceptional facilities, and our wide range of offerings that combine the best of golf and the best of luxury,” said Cherone.
Plans also include moving ahead immediately with a $10 million room renovation project that was put on hold last year following Gaylord’s unsolicited bid for the property, Cherone said. “We had our designs and even a model room completed before this process began. So we are excited to be able to move forward with this project, which will include a complete renovation of all guest rooms and guest corridors, as well as public spaces on the resort banquet level.”
